Enter the Gungeon is a twin-stick shooter rogue-like and its one of the most difficult rogue-likes that I have ever played. To beat the game you have to make it through 5 areas and 5 bosses. After 50+ runs (most of which ended in less than 10 minutes) and never even making it the third boss, I just ended up getting frustrated. That alone is frustrating because the gameplay itself is fun but its hard to enjoy it when you’re constantly dying.

I understand that’s the point of rogue-likes, it’s not about this run. It’s about 50, 100, 200 runs from now and maybe the issue is, I have played far too many or maybe the issue is, Dead Cells ruined all other rogue-likes. I don’t know what my issue is but what I do know is, I’m just so frustrated with this game and have to stop.

I’m glad that I gave this game a try but it just wasn’t for me.

Recap: The Good

Gameplay: Shooting and dodging feels good.

Recap: The Bad

Difficulty: I’m a massive baby and thought the game was too hard.

Genre: I think the game being a rogue-like hurt this game.

Recap: The Okay

Final Thoughts

All in all, I have to give this game the dislike rating. It bums me out but I have no interest in finishing this game after a few hours and in my opinion and I would say that’s a bad sign.
