Motivation to play the Game

After playing Chrono Trigger with my friend, I had been feeling like I wanted to play another turn-based strategy game. I figured I’d play this one since it’s probably the best turn-based RPG of the year.

Why I did not finish the game

One of my biggest gaming pet peeves is bad checkpointing and/or bad autosaving.  I went into a dungeon, I took my time, fought everything was grinding and leveling up my characters. All of a sudden, I was just thrown into the dungeon’s boss battle with low health. I lose but no big deal, I’ll load up the last checkpoint or autosave, right? Wrong, my last manual save was going back an hour and a half and the last autosave was going back over 2 hours.  So basically I just wasted the last hour and a half for nothing.

I’ll go back and redo, maybe 20-30 minutes but thats my max. I will never redo hours, games that do not respect my time are not worth playing.

Amount of Time Put Into The Game

I played the game for a little over 6 hours. I enjoyed my time with it but losing that much progress just broke me.

Try Again Later?

Maybe but not likely.
